LeaderBrand Produce Ltd is one of New Zealand’s largest and most diverse horticultural businesses, with operations in Ashburton, Matamata, Pukekohe and Head Office based in Gisborne.  As a large scale farming operation we grow, pack, distribute and market a wide range of annual and permanent crops, as well as added value products for the domestic and export markets.

Established in 1975, by Murray McPhail, LeaderBrand Produce Ltd (LB) remains a 100% family owned enterprise.

LB is an established grower, packer and exporter of Buttercup Squash (Kabocha).

We are the leading grower, packer and shipper of Broccoli, Lettuce and fresh Sweet Corn for the New Zealand market.  And LB owns and operates one of the New Zealand’s most modern salad production facilities.

One of the things that make LeaderBrand unique is that we control all parts of the process from seed to sale.  This means that we have integrated every aspect of the supply chain, quality, and food safety.

We are also one of the largest Gisborne growers of internationally acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Gris grapes. And a key supplier of process crops such as Sweet Corn and Pumpkin.

People are definitely key, wealth of knowledge and depth, our structure allowing growth and contingency/support.  We benefit from Agronomists with science based degrees plus the experience of long standing operational managers and a fantastic support crew in all areas of our business.  Employing over 300 people has seen our business grow over the past few years and offers our team pride that we support local.
