With a team of nearly 500 people across five sites, they deliver over 9 million mushrooms every week to supermarkets, fruit & vege stores and food service wholesalers & distributors, right across the country.

Due to the upcoming retirement of the current CEO, a rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to lead this successful family business which is well poised for future growth.

Reporting directly to the Board, the incoming CEO will be passionate about horticulture and will provide leadership to 7 direct reports and a wider team of 500, ensuring the business maintains its market leadership position, with a focus on optimising its new facilities and growing profitable market opportunities. The CEO will foster a highly engaged culture with an unwavering commitment to health and safety, continually improving productivity, quality, efficiency, service and profitability to achieve targeted financial returns and enhance the future position, sustainability and customer satisfaction of Meadow Mushrooms.

Applicants must possess a proven track record of success working in a CEO/senior leadership capacity delivering profitable and sustainable business growth for the New Zealand market, ideally from within the food production sector or FMCG related environment. Candidates will be visionary but practical and pragmatic, with proven commercial/financial acumen and a natural affinity for leadership and relationship development, driving sales growth and leading market-centric initiatives. Demonstrated experience leading a strongly values-based culture and growing high performing teams, will be critical to success in this role.
