ASPIRING HI-TECH HORT GRADUATE
- Based in Eastern Bay of Plenty
- Seeking an outdoors go-getter who is keen to learn hi-tech production horticulture
- Passion to lead a Māori business
NAU MAI, HAERE MAI!
Join the fast track to horticultural leadership with Miro berries graduate programme. Miro is a collective of 30 Māori food producers growing blueberries in a hi-tech hydroponic styled growing system.
Blueberry production is a rapidly growing sector in NZ. We have a strong management team including world leading berry and hort specialists to learn from and 10 orchards across NZ. An opportunity exists for a keen smart graduate to jump on the waka and build a career. You will work closely with our Technical and Orchard Managers, building skills progressively, with a clear pathway to leadership in the business.
We are looking for Māori graduates who have completed an undergraduate or post-grad degree at level 6 at a university or polytechnic in horticulture, science, agri-commerce, science, engineering or business. You do not have to be a recent graduate – your agricultural or horticulture experience will be transferrable to berries.
Your primary place of work will be Te Teko in the beautiful Eastern BOP, but you can expect to get out and about visiting orchards all over the North Island. The role requires a team player with strong people leadership potential and communication skills, and a passion for production performance, continuous learning and hi-tech growing systems.
Miro aims to build strong communities and employment through environmentally sustainable horticulture. www.miroberries.com
