Due to an internal promotion, an opportunity has arisen for an exceptional individual to lead our Domestic Packhouse team in Pukekohe where our supply of potatoes, carrots and onions is packed and distributed to the NZ domestic market. This role is critical to the business, and as the incumbent you will work in a fast-moving, seven day per week environment, being required to meet tight deadlines.
You will be guided by the Post-Harvest Operations Manager, leading and directing your team of fifty washing and packing personnel.
You will manage cost budgets, ensure financial targets are met and assist with the preparation of annual budgets.
You will also play an essential role in the implementation of our ERP system. Ability to manage change and support your team through this phase is critical. Previous experience with an ERP system implementation would be an advantage.
Daily co-operation with the Sales & Operations Planner and Crop Managers to ensure delivery is in line with the Packing/Sales Plan is vital.
Your strong focus on continuous improvement plus Safety & Wellbeing will ensure your success.
Competencies required to be successful include:
- Proven success in the management of high performing teams
- Working knowledge of continuous improvement
- Leadership experience in a manufacturing or Packhouse environment
- Financial literacy with Strong BI / ICT skills
