The Wilcox Group of Companies grow, pack and distribute fresh produce for the domestic and export markets with growing operations based in Northland, Pukekohe, Matamata and Ohakune.

We have a permanent role for an experienced machinery operator based in Matamata.  You will have the opportunity to work across all facets of the operation including ground preparation, cultivation, planting and harvesting activities.  The role will be part of a small but  experienced team who take pride in their work and in the crops that we grow.  Our machinery operators work closely with crop supervisors to ensure the best results are achieved for each crop.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about the horticulture industry and is looking for a long term career role with the ability to advance.  Remuneration will be based on experience, however the working conditions are excellent.

The successful applicant will  be an experienced operator and will:

• Class 4 license preferable
• have previous horticultural experience
• be able to troubleshoot and problem solve
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• able to keep excellent records
• demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude
• have the flexibility to take on other tasks as and when required.
